Beeston ladies’ 1st team have made history by reaching the cup final for the first time ever.
It was a busy weekend for the junior age groups at the club with the U14’s and U16’s taking part in their respective England Hockey competitions. The U12’s were also busy in competitions at the Burton tournament with the club sending 7 teams to compete!
Table-topping Surbiton were 7-1 winners at Beeston, with Luke Taylor scoring five and others coming from Alan Forsyth and David Goodfield. Adam Dixon scored Beeston’s consolation in the last minute.
East Grinstead remain in the driving seat and two points clear of Hampstead & Westminster after picking up a 2-0 victory at Beeston.
Wimbledon dropped to third in the table after losing out 3-2 at Beeston on Saturday.
Beeston picked up three points at Buckingham with a 1-0 win, Courtney Schonell netting the winner from open play after 26 minutes.
Beeston men’s 1st team have reached the quarter final stage of the England Hockey Championships.
