Beeston ladies’ 1st team have made history by reaching the cup final for the first time ever.
The Bees played the University of Nottingham on Sunday 8th March in the England Hockey Championship quarter final. The game finished 2-2 and went to a penalty stroke competition where Beeston came out on top with a 3-2 win.
The Bees were due to face Hampstead and Westminster on Sunday 15th March in the cup semi-final in London. However, the club have received correspondence from England Hockey stating ‘Hampstead and Westminster have withdrawn from the competition which means Beeston have a bye in the semi finals’. This means Beeston will now face either Clifton Robinsons or Bowdon Hightown in the final of this years England Hockey Championship.
The final takes place on Saturday 9th May at Lee Valley Tennis and Hockey Centre.
