Beeston put on a dominant display against Clifton Robinsons in the Vitality Women’s Premier Division game held at Beeston on Sunday. At the start of the match, the two teams were separated by just one point in the league table, but Beeston was able to secure a comfortable 4-0 win.
The game began with both teams looking to take control of the match, but it was Beeston who struck first in the 20th minute. Lauren Burrel (9 Beeston) scored the opening goal from a penalty corner to give her team an early lead. Clifton Robinsons tried to come back into the game but were unable to break down Beeston’s defense.
As the first quarter ended, Beeston held on to their 1-0 lead. In the second quarter, Beeston continued to dominate and added two more goals to their tally. Ella Cusack (5 Beeston) scored from a penalty corner in the 30th minute, and Cerys Miller (6 Beeston) found the back of the net with a field goal in the 33rd minute.
At half time, Beeston had a comfortable 3-0 lead. In the third quarter, Beeston continued to control the game, and Charlotte Watson (12 Beeston) scored a field goal in the 50th minute to put her team 4-0 ahead.
Clifton Robinsons tried to come back into the game in the fourth quarter but could not break down Beeston’s defense. The final whistle blew, and Beeston secured a deserved 4-0 win.
Overall, it was an excellent performance from Beeston, who looked in control throughout the game.
