Beeston Ladies 1st XI are delighted to announce the signing of Scotland international, Charlotte Watson. Alongside Scotland commitments Watson is also part of the Great Britain squad training ahead of the Paris Olympics.

Watson, who is currently in the representing Scotland at the Commonwealth Games joins Beeston from rival Premier Division side Loughborough University.

Having played the indoor season for Beeston where she finished as the sides top goal scorer, Watson now joins for the 22/23 Premier Division outdoor season. Watson has already joined up with the squad and started integrating herself into the group.

Head Coach, James Sordillo said of the signing, “Charlotte fits into the group really well and That has been clear from day one of indoor. She is exactly the sort of person we want to bring in and on top of that she is a superb attacking player. 

Last season was good, but we don’t ever hide from our ambition, and we have a group who want to build on that. I have no doubt that Charlotte, along with the other players joining us for the new season will helps us on that journey

Having been around the squad already it was great to see connections already starting to build and Charlotte will add to our already exciting attacking threat”

The skilful forward will bring a wealth of experience at international and club level and will join up with the club after a busy summer of international commitments.

The signing see’s Beeston Ladies 1s add to their squad after a season where they finished the highest, they have ever finished, with their highest ever points tally and won the Tier 1 National Cup.

Sordillo continues “I don’t think it’s the best kept secret we have been interested in Charlotte joining, and I’m really pleased it has happened. Having got to know her over the last few months I’m really looking forward to seeing her play in a Beeston shirt”
