England and Great Britain ace, Ollie Willars, is set to join HGC in the Netherlands for the 2021/22 season.
Willars, who has won two England Hockey league titles with the Bees, has been at the club since the age of 12 and is relishing the opportunity of playing a season in the Hoofdklasse.
Ollie commented, “I am excited about the opportunity next season presents. I have always looked at the Hoofdklasse from afar and can’t wait to get out there and play. I have been at the club since a young age and playing for the first team was always a dream of mine growing up.
I would like to thank the club, particularly Griff, Steve Musson, Woody, Waddo and previous coaching staff for all their support and help over the years. Also a special mention to Martin Keeling for introducing me to the club as a junior. Beeston will always be in my heart and I wish the lads all the best for next season.”
Beeston Chairman, Graham Griffiths, commented, “Ollie has been a loyal servant to Beeston for many years and he had an incredible journey through the junior teams at the club, into the first team and is now one of the most respected players in Great Britain”.
The club wish Ollie all the best for next season and look for to seeing his progress with his new team.
We look forward to Ollie returning back home to Beeston after his spell in the Netherlands.
