Sunday 19th May saw the U12’s at the Ashby tournament, a really well organised event at a lovely venue, Dixie Grammar School Sports Pitches.
We were drawn against Leicester, Lichfield and Ashby Red in our qualifying pool, winning all 3 matches with solid defence and wide attacking play.
Our squad of Alice, Charlotte, Darcie, Ella, Erin, Layla, Lottie, Millie, Olivia and Ruby played so well as a team, making great use of the width of the pitch, creating space and passing the ball with confidence.
Our semi final against Ashby Black was again comfortably won, with our GK and defence maintaining a clean sheet.
The final found us against Lichfield again, we scored in the first minute ending the game 3 nil. The whole team played as a team ably supported by a vocal and supportive group of parents.
