Beeston star, Nick King, is currently representing England Over 65’s at Real Club de Polo de Barcelona in the Masters Hockey World Cup. Nick made his England debut aged 65 and has so far scored 9 goals in 5 games and is in the lead by two goals to pick up the ‘Golden Stick’!
England topped their group winning all four matches with Germany finishing bottom of the group (drawing one game and losing the other three!).
England smashed their semi-final game 10-0 with Nick picking up his first international hat-trick and eventually scoring four goals in the space of five minutes!
The World Cup final takes place on Saturday 30th June where Nick’s England team go head to head with the Netherlands at 9:15am.
With World Cup fever in the air, Harry Kane will surely be looking to match Nick’s World Cup success this summer.
We look forward to welcoming Nick back to Beeston and we wish him all the best in the World Cup final on Saturday!
It’s coming home…
