Junior Bees flying high!

It was a busy weekend for the junior age groups at the club with the U14’s and U16’s taking part in their respective England Hockey competitions. The U10’s and U12’s were also busy in competitions at the Burton tournament with the club sending 7 teams to compete!

Well done to all the Beeston players, coaches and managers. A huge thank you to all those who helped out with umpiring duties and all the parents for their fantastic support!!!

U14 Girls

Our Tier 1 Girls played their final group stage match on Sunday 8th March and secured a solid 2-0 win against Repton HC.  We finish second overall in our group to Repton HC, with the same points but with a goal difference of one!  The team will progress to the Area Finals on 5 April.

In the U14 Tier 2 Girls Club Championships, our girls finished top of their group and will also go through to their Area Finals on 5 April.

Our coaches are David Bond, Paige Gillott, Jess Hood and Graham Bentley and credit must absolutely go to the four of them for their hard work and commitment over the season.

U14 Boys

The under 14 boys had a great game yesterday, showed good discipline and a great team spirit which resulted in a 1-0 win against Sutton Coldfield. We finished third in our group with 3 wins, 1 draw, 1 loss.

U16 Girls

The U16 girls had a great day at Trent College. They played three and won three.

V Alderley Edge   Won 2-1 scorers Croft & Acheson

V Thirsk.                Won 4-2scorers Taylor, Barker, Croft & Penty

V Sheffield.            Won 4-0 scorers Emmans, Acheson x2, Hunt

The girls have progressed through to the national finals. So Beeston U16 girls have made both national finals this year, indoor and out!

U16 Boys

The U16 Boys took part in the England Hockey Tier 1 Area Finals at Reading Hockey Club.

The results were as follows:

Beeston 1-0 Bournemouth (Ewan H-R)

Surbiton 5-1 Beeston (Ethan S)

Reading 2-4 Beeston (Sam J, Ollie F, Ollie L, Charlie D).

Final Standings:

1. Surbiton – 9 pts

2. Beeston – 6 pts

3. Reading – 3 pts

4. Bournemouth – 0 pts
