“I’d like to join your posse, boys, but first I’m gonna sing a little song.” – Woody’s Weekly Review

There is a little song at Beeston HQ which the management team has sang for a number of years behind closed doors! It involves a train and the lyrics to this weeks song went like this…

“Down the track the train came puffing, Beeston 3 points Canterbury nothing!”

Head coach, Stephen Wood, commented on the strange ritual, “OUR little song… {laughs}… Muss (assistant coach – Steve Musson) has sang this little beauty after a win for as long as I’ve been at the club!”

“It’s a daft bit of fun really – we haven’t got a song if we lose so it’s always good to have a sing-song after a game!”

The Bees went top of the Men’s Premier League last weekend after beating Canterbury 5-2 at Nottingham Hockey Centre.

Woody continued, “We played some really good attacking hockey against Canterbury. Preparation at training this week has been excellent and we’ve spent a lot of time looking at videos of East Grinstead. The squad is hungry for more and we’ll be travelling to Saint Hill looking to bring 3 points back to Beeston.”

The men’s 1st XI¬†face East Grinstead on the 23rd October at 2pm at Saint Hill. The ladies 1st XI are playing at home on Saturday 22nd October against Ben Rhydding at 2pm.
