The club has just been made aware that Peter Latter, Beeston HC vice-president, sadly passed away at home on Thursday 22nd September aged 86 years.
‘Woody’ has been part of the Beeston Story for a quarter of a century. He joined the Bees in 1991, age 15, after receiving phone call from a strange man who had a rather odd question.
The Olympic effect perhaps? The GOLD rush. The start of the season has seen an increase of spectators flooding through the gates to watch the Gold and Black Bees at Nottingham Hockey Centre.
The average age of the Beeston men’s and ladies squads is just 21 years old. Adding to the ladies victory in Manchester on Saturday, the men also registered 3 points on Sunday.
Beeston Ladies 1st XI maintained their excellent start to the season with a hard fought win over Brooklands Poynton in Manchester on Saturday.

Beeston HC are delighted to announce the signing of Argentinian, Rosario Villagra.
Beeston men’s 1st XI have drawn Doncaster in Round 2 of the England Hockey men’s cup. The fixture will take place on the 30th October 2016 at Doncaster Hockey Club.
Mark Gleghorne hit a stunning hat-trick to lead Beeston to a 3-2 win over Brooklands Manchester University in the Men’s Premier Division.
