Two early goals saw Beeston spoil the Clifton Robinsons party as a landmark day for the Bristol-based club ended in defeat in the Vitality Women’s Premier Division.
Surbiton clocked up a 5-1 triumph away at Beeston with Ben Boon, Jamie Golden (twice), David Goodfield and Rob Farrington finding the net for the visitors before Sam Apoola grabbed a consolation for the hosts.
The concession of a late goal to lose 1-0 was also the fate that befell Beeston, who matched table-toppers Hampstead & Westminster for large swathes of their game before Melanie Wilkinson hammered home the decisive goal with seven minutes left.
