Ladies 2s
The 2s travelled to Leamington Spa on Saturday and were unlucky to lose 2-0 in a very physical match. A tough lesson in the importance of doing the simple things well. Despite majority of possession, the 2s just couldn’t quite put the ball in the back of the net.

Ladies 3s
The Ladies 3s had a very hard and physical fixture this weekend against Worksop 1s. Although they were dominant and fought hard throughout, the 3s were kept to a 0-0 draw.

Ladies 4s
The Ladies 4s went up against Nottingham Uni 2s, with a young and somewhat inexperienced side. The score definitely didn’t reflect the effort and hard work displayed by the team.

Ladies 5s
The Ladies 5s went out on a wet afternoon to face a very experienced Worksop 2s. An end to end start to the game, unfortunately resulted in two quick goals for the opposition. The 5s were given a lifeline with a green card shown to not one, but two Worksop players over the course of the game, but they were unable to capitalise on their advantage, despite multiple short corner efforts. Final score 5-0 to Worksop.

Ladies 6s
The Ladies 6s faced South Notts this weekend, in a game that saw the Bees hold the majority of possession. 0-0 at half time, South Notts struck first, capitalising on one of few opportunities had in the Beeston defensive D. With continued pressure, the 6s dominated the field and eventually EmJ Ellis found the net with 10 mins to go, to level the game and secure the first point of the season. A strong performance by all, with the defence playing a crucial role in neutralising the opportunities made by South Notts.

Ladies 7s
On Saturday, newly promoted 7s took on recently relegated Trent Vale. The game was a lot closer than it looked on paper. The 7s continued to build on the success of last season and pushed Trent Vale all the way. The real difference between the two teams was Trent Vale’s composure in front of goal, finding the back of the net four times over the course of the game. Thank you to Katharine O’Neill for stepping in at kicking back after the 7s goalie went off injured. Despite the score, this was a very positive game for the Ladies 7s.
