Captains’ Round Up – 25th November 2017

Ladies 2s

A 15 strong 2nd XI travelled to Northampton on Saturday for their last fixture of 2017, ending on a high with a 3-1 win. The ladies demonstrated creative movement both off and on the ball, which was rewarded with plenty of chances in the attacking circle. A special short out goes to forward Hannah Far for scoring her first goals of the season. The team faces Lichfield at home in early February next year.

Final Score: 3-1 Win

Ladies 3s

The Ladies 3s were looking forward to their game against Newark 2s, which was unfortunately called off due to a frozen pitch. The ladies are well rested ahead of their next game against Boots 3.

Final Score: Postponed

Next Game: 2nd December – Home vs Boots 3 (12noon pushback); 3rd December – Away vs SBU 1 (11am pushback – Cup)

Ladies 4s

A great team performance from the Ladies 4s, saw them double their goal tally for the season with 2 fabulous goals. Unfortunately, the opposition found the net on 5 occasions- a result that doesn’t fit the hard work the Bees put in.

Final Score: 5-2 Loss

Next Game: 2nd December – Away vs Manning 1 (10:40am pushback)

Ladies 5s

Beeston 5s looked forward to playing West Bridgford 3s at home, with a strong team ready and raring to go. Unfortunately, 30 mins before pushback the game was postponed due to a frozen pitch. Roll on next week!

Final Score: Postponed

Next Game: 2nd December – Away vs Boots 5 (10:30am pushback)

Ladies 6s

Beeston 6s were looking forward to their game against title contenders, Meridian. However, they were saved from the drive out to Kirkby in Ashfield by a frozen pitch. A double header next weekend for the ladies, with both a league and shield game.

Final Score: Postponed

Next Game: 2nd December – Home vs Trent Vale (1:30pm pushback); 3rd December – Away vs South Notts 1 (12noon pushback – Shield)

Ladies 7s

The Ladies 7s began the game very well and had the majority of possession in the first half. They created a number of chances but were just not able to get the ball into the back of the goal. They started off the second half in positive spirits but unfortunately this was short lived as North Notts slotted away 2 successive goals and managed to slip a third away before the full time whistle. Despite the loss the team worked very well together and put some great pieces of play together. They have lots to learn moving forward but can take a lot of positives away from this game and fingers crossed for their first elusive win of the season soon! (By Steph Hanley)

Final Score: 3-0 Loss

Player of the Match: Lauren Neal

Next Game: Saturday 2nd December – Away vs NTU2 (12noon pushback)
