BEESTON are delighted to announce the signing of 2012 Olympic Gold Medalist, Etienne Stott MBE. Etienne is the Olympic Champion in the C-2 canoe slalom event from the 2012 Summer Olympics in London.
Beeston Hockey Club Director, David Griffiths, commented, “I received an application for a new member on the website on Monday and recognised Etienne’s name on the email. Etienne played hockey when he was a teenager and said he wanted to get back in to the sport. He’s obviously an extremely talented sportsman and I’m sure our members will welcome him to the club and learn from his experience as a Olympic gold medalist.
Etienne Stott, commented, “Since retiring from serious training I’ve been toying with the idea of trying something new. That’s when I came to the idea of going back to hockey and having heard about Beeston Hockey Club at the Nottingham Sports Awards recently I decided to see about joining.”
Etienne is the first Olympic Gold medalist to join Beeston Hockey Club in the clubs 110 year history. But he won’t be the last…
