The Whirlowdale Bees travelled to Ben Rhydding last Saturday in a must win to keep the pressure on Brooklands Poynton at the top of the league.
The Bees opened the scoring in 19th minute with an open play goal from Alice Huddlestone. 9 minutes later Maddie Pearce put the Bees two goals ahead with a penalty corner goal. The Bees went in to half time 2-0 up.
In the second half Paige Gillott was on fine form and netted twice for the Bees in the 44th and 53rd minute. However it was not plane sailing for the Bees as Ben Rhydding fought back with Beth Cordukes and Rachel Doherty scoring for the home side in the 61st and 63rd minute.
