England Hockey Investec Cup (1/4 final)

Beeston 5 – 1 Sevenoak
Nottingham Hockey Centre – 12th February – 12:30pm
The Whirlowdale Bees played Sevenoaks on Sunday in the England Hockey Investec Cup 1/4 Final. 
Sevenoaks started the game well and put pressure on the Beeston defence in the early stages of the game but were unable to convert the chances that they had. Beeston were awarded a penalty corner in the 22nd minute and Rosy Stephens found space in front of the goal to deflect the ball high in to the Sevenoaks net.
Three minutes later the Bees doubled their lead through top goalscorer, Sophie Robinson, who deflected the ball in to the goal from a fast left wing cross. At half-time the score was 2-0 to the Bees.
Sevenoaks were awarded a penalty corner a few minutes in to the second half but the Bees defended well and kept the ball out the net.
Ten minutes in to the second half Alice Huddlestone tackled the Sevenoaks defence then rounded the goalkeeper and smashed the ball to put the Bees three goals ahead.
Fenella Scott made it four in the 49th minute and Rosy Stephens got her second of the game from another penalty corner deflection on the 55th minutes.
Sevenoaks scored a consolation goal in with 11 minutes on the clock but it was the Bees who progressed to the semi-final for the first time in the Clubs 110 year history.
The draw for the semi-final took place on Monday 13th February at Bisham Abbey. The semi-finals are due to be played on Sunday 2nd April 2017.
