Bees sting Timperley to stay top of league

Beeston Ladies 1st XI maintained their 100% record this season with a 6-1 win over Timperley on Saturday at Nottingham Hockey Centre.

Sophie Robinson scored after just 8 seconds to help Investec Conference North leaders Beeston to a thumping 6-1 win over Timperley. Sophie scored a second goal just 3 minutes later to put the Bees 2-0 up.

Rosy Stephens fired home a penalty corner in the 23rd minute.

In the second half, Alice Huddlestone, netted for the Bees in the 46th minute. Maddy Wray and Paige Gilliott both scored their first national league goals for the bees in the 57th and 66th minute respectively.

And Argentinian, Rosario Villagra, made her home debut for the Bees, who are now four wins from four and sit top of the league.

The ladies travel away to face Durham University who are sat 2nd in the league next Saturday at 12pm.
