England Hockey Men’s Cup Quarter Final

Beeston 1 – 3 Reading
Nottingham Hockey Centre – 5th February 2017 – 2:00pm
The Cup holders, Beeston, lost their first cup game since 2015 this Sunday falling short to a strong Reading team in the England Hockey Cup Quarter Final at Nottingham Hockey Centre.
Reading opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a penalty corner goal from Richard Mantell.
The Bees went in to half time 0-1 down despite numerous chances to level the scores in the first half.
The travellers extended their lead in the 37th minute with a open play goal from Tom Carson and once again in the 39th minute with a goal from Ben Boon.
Beeston pulled one back through new signing Will Byas who found space in the centre of the circle and smashed the ball in to the Reading net in the 47th minute.
The Bees continued to put pressure on the Reading defence but did not convert the chances that they had and Reading progress to the semi-final of the Cup.
