The fixtures have been released for this year’s preseason tournament, being held at Nottingham Hockey Centre on Saturday 7thSeptember and Sunday 8th September.
The number of entries in the women’s tournament was extremely strong, so we have taken the decision to extend the number of teams to 16 (two divisions of eight) for the women. Each team will play the other teams in their division once with the team finishing top of the table being the winner.
The men’s tournament remains as previously stated with 12 teams across two pools of six. The men will play crossover fixtures at the end of the weekend with 1st placed teams in each pool facing each other in the final, 2nd placed teams playing for 3rd/4th and so on.
Fixtures for all will be two 17:30 halves, mirroring two quarters of National League hockey, with a 5 minute half time. Fixtures will start on the hour on Andy Day’s now famous countdown.
This year we are also organising a social for all teams on the Saturday evening. We will have handmade pizzas available to purchase from Working Man’s Kitchen, drinks available from the bar, and live music for teams to enjoy after their games.
