It is with deep sorrow that Beeston Hockey Club has learned that Craig Keegan has died at the age of 54.

Craig, a stalwart of Belper Hockey Club also played for Beeston in the 1990s, before becoming the Head Coach of the Men’s 1st team in less than a year.

We are touched by fond memories of Craig’s incredible contribution to our sport. As a player he scored 72 goals in 74 appearances for the Bees before going on to become coach in and representing England at the European Cup Winners Cup in 1999.

Craig was also widely known as the GB and England assistant women’s coach, coaching the GB Women’s side to a gold medal Olympic victory at Rio in 2016.

He will be fondly remembered and sorely missed.
