Canadian internationals Sukhi Panesar and Vikram Sandhu have completed their two week quarantine period, passed their fitness tests this afternoon at the club and join the men’s performance squad from this weekend.
Rio Olympian, Panesar, played club hockey last season for HTC Uhlenhorst Mulheim in Germany and Sandhu joins from HTC Schwarz-Weiss Neuss, also in Germany. The pair are both in the Canadian men’s national squad preparing for the Tokyo Olympic Games which are still scheduled to take place next summer.
David Griffiths, Deputy Chairman, commented, “We are thrilled to welcome Sukhi and Vikram to Beeston Hockey Club. The will bring a wealth of international experience to the squad and will strengthen the squad further ahead of this weekends fixtures.”
The Bees face Durham University this Sunday at Nottingham Hockey Centre at 2pm. Spectators are welcome but please remember to maintain a social distance of 2 metres at all times. Entry is £5 per adult and U18’s are free.
If you can’t make it down to Nottingham Hockey Centre the game will be available to watch for free on Bee TV. The game will be also broadcast on Notts TV (channel 7 and virgin 159) at 9pm on Wednesday evening.
