Lauren Burrell has been appointed Beeston Ladies first team captain for the 2020/21 season. Lauren, 24, is going into her fourth season at the club having been part of the squad since the 2017/2018 season.
Lauren commented, “I’m really excited to be named as captain. I’m looking forward to seeing where we can go as a squad. We have a great group of players and I can’t wait to get back out on the pitch and play alongside them again.”
Having signed from the Loughborough Students in 2017, Lauren, who is also a talented coach working within the Player Pathway and with the Beeston U18 Girls side, has gone from strength to strength and developed an uncompromising, dynamic playing style.
Ladies Head Coach Colin Clarke added, “I am delighted Lauren has agreed to be 1st XI Captain for the forthcoming season. Lauren has excellent leadership qualities and is the ideal person to lead the squad in what will hopefully be an exciting season for Beeston.”
The Ladies 1st team will once again be playing in the England Hockey Women’s Premier Division. The fixtures will be published shortly. You can watch all home games live on Bee TV and on Notts TV every Wednesday night throughout the season.
