Ladies 4th XI in good spirits after their 1-0 win!

Ladies 2s
The 2s travelled to Harbone and saw their hard graft and diligence in passing rewarded with a win. Two open play goals and a flick brought the score to 3-0 at full time. Shout out to 2s captain Sylvia, who is now sporting some very fetching eyebrow stitches thanks to a close encounter with a Harbone stick! Next week sees the team face Belper at home- any support on the sideline would be very much appreciated.
Final Score: 3-0 Win
Player of the Match: Beth Walker-Smith
Next Game: 18th November- Home vs Belper (5pm pushback)
Ladies 3s
The 3s has an amazing game with intensity and skill shining from the start. They went in at half time 1-0 up thanks to a great team goal, finished by Lisa Van Ewijk. In the second half, they were made to work a bit harder against a team with a lot of subs, but the girls held their own and showed Trent what they’re made of.
Final Score: 1-0 Win
Player of the Match: Fran Stonier
Next Game: 18th November – Home vs North Notts Ladies 2 (3:30pm pushback)
Ladies 4s
The hockey Gods finally smiled upon our Ladies 4s this week, as they won their first game of the season. The team worked well together, applying pressure on the opposition to be rewarded with numerous breaks into the opposition D. The Bees were unlucky not to score more goals, but the one that counted came from player of the match, Cara Jones

Ladies 5s
The 5s were away this week to West Bridgford 2s. With no goalkeeper, the girls knew it was going to be a tough game! With a focus on positive play and passing the ball, the team were unlucky to concede within the first 10mins. Another 4 goals soon followed. At half time, the emphasis was again placed on passing the ball and playing attacking hockey, the Bees were rewarded with more possession and more chances in the second half, with several attempts on goal and 3 short corners, which West Bridgford defended well. Even with the increased Beeston presence, West Bridgford found time to slot home another 5 goals in the second half. The final score in no way reflects the hard work and unity of the 5s.
Final Score: 10-0 Loss
Player of the Match: Breezy White
Next Game: 18th November – Home vs Redhill 1 (10am pushback)
Ladies 6s
On a crisp, yet perfect day for hockey the Beeston 6s were visitors to the Beeston 7s on home turf. The visitors pushed hard in the first half, managing to put the first goal of three past the 7s’ kicking back. However, as the opposition tightened its ranks and utilised its space to pass the ball around the 6s defence, they fought hard to keep the 6s at 1-0 at half time. Both teams came out rallied in the second half, with the visitors scoring 2 further goals before a converted penalty flick from the 7s for a ball stopped with a foot on the line. Both teams played valiantly with smiles all around, after a great effort by each and every Beeston player on the pitch. (By Heidi Ross-Burton)
Final Score: 3-1 Win
Player of the Match: Jenny Katte
Next Game: 18th November – Away vs  Worksop 3 (11am pushback)
Ladies 7s
The Ladies 7s took the week’s match (against our Ladies 6s) to show everyone how much they are improving and gaining confidence as a side. Despite the lack of a goalie, the 7s held the 6s at bay until well into the first half, creating many of their own opportunities to score and numerous short corners- no doubt causing the 6s to work harder than they’d anticipated! A few defensive miscalculations led to the 6s gaining a 3-0 lead, however a spectacular penalty flick, taken by Meera Ghaiwal, ended the match on a high. Special mention to Jo Winfield who played fabulously on her kicking back debut! (By Lauren Neal)
Final Score: 3-1 Loss
Player of the Match: Jo Winfield
Next Game: Away vs SBU 3 (12noon pushback)
