Ladies 3s
Beeston Ladies 3s suffered their first defeat of the season at the weekend, losing 4-3 to University of Nottingham 2s. The game was end to end from start to finish, with goals coming in quick succession. Unfortunately, each time Beeston scored, the University team replied with a goal of their own, eventually taking the lead. Seconds before the final whistle, the Bees were awarded a short corner, which they were unable to convert.

Ladies 5s
The game started well for both teams, with some lovely hockey on show. Half way through the first half, SBU managed to put the ball in the back of the goal. Beeston rallied, passing excellently, gaining a short corner in the process. An amazing combination of a Claire Penty injection and a Gabi Brown strike, saw the Bees score their only goal of the game. Half time came and went with a change of formation, which allowed for the Bees to have far more possession. However, with the defence tiring and the midfield even more so, the opportunities for SBU to score opened up. An unfortunate end to a promising display.
Final Score: 7-1 Loss
Player of the Match: Claire Penty
Next Game: Home vs University of Nottingham 3s (10am pushback)

Ladies 6s
The Ladies 6s continued their unbeaten streak, with a 3-1 win over division leaders North Notts 3. An unfortunate short corner in the first half, allowed North Notts to score their only goal of the game to bring the scores to 1-1; but the Bees didn’t let this phase them. Dominating possession and territory throughout, they showed why they deserve to top the table, working hard in both defence and attack, to produce some well executed goals.
Final Score: 3-1 Win
Player of the Match: A three-way tie between Emma Self, Hannah Foy & Sophie Atkinson
Next Games: 4th November- Home vs SBU 2 (10:30 pushback); 5th November- Away vs Redhill 2 (Shield; 10am pushback)

Ladies 7s
The Ladies 7s travelled up to Worksop for this weekend’s game. The 7s continued to show their skills in the middle of the pitch, making very difficult for Worksop 3s to find a path through to goal, and, on occasion, looking very threatening themselves. The continued squad development is evident every week- it hasn’t been an easy to start to a season in a new division for the 7s, but they are really showing what they are made of.
Final Score: 4-0 Loss
Player of the Match: Olivia Patterson (a very close vote, with 5 different players in contention!)
Next Game: Away vs West Bridgford Ladies 4 (12noon pushback)
