The Whirlowdale Bees played Sutton Coldfield on Saturday 25th March at Wyndley Leisure Centre in the last game of the league season. 
With the sun behind them, the Bees started off well putting Sutton Coldfield under pressure in the early stages of the game. Sutton Coldfield won a penalty corner in the 12 minute which was well saved by the Bees.
In the 16th minute the Bees were awarded a penalty stroke which Esme Burge calmly converted. 8 minutes later Fenella Scutt and Sophie Robinson extended the Bees lead with two goals in a minute.
Rosy Stephens scored in the 30th minute and the Bees went in to half time 4-0 up.
The second half remained goalless and the Bees took the points.
Brooklands Poynton beat Timperley 2-1 will progress to the play-offs. Beeston finished the season in second place with 15 wins, 2 draws and 1 loss.
The Bees next game is on Sunday 2nd April at Nottingham Hockey Centre against Clifton Robinsons in the England Hockey Cup semi-final. The game starts at 12:30pm, come on down and lend your support!!!
