Beeston 1 – 4 Surbiton
Nottingham Hockey Centre – 5th March 2017 – 2:00pm
The FHP Bees played Surbiton last Sunday on a wet and windy day at Nottingham Hockey Centre. Both teams were missing a number of players who were away on international duty with England in South Africa.
Beeston’s Will Byas put the Bees ahead in the 10th minute with a penalty corner goal. Surbiton levelled the score in the 28th minute through Wales international, Lewis Prosser. The teams went in to half-time with the scores level.
In the second half, Surbiton’s Nicholas Parkes picked up a yellow card in the 40th minute and a further green card was issued a few minutes later to Surbiton but the Bees were unable to capitalise against Surbiton with 9 men on the pitch.
Alan Forsyth and Aaran Blumfield scored for Surbiton in the 52nd and 54th minute and the win was sealed for the London side when Zach Wallace netted Surbiton’s fourth goal in the 64th minute.
The Bees are back at home next Sunday 12th March at 2pm against Brooklands and need a win in order to stay in contention for a play-off spot.
