There is a little song at Beeston HQ which the management team has sang for a number of years behind closed doors! It involves a train and the lyrics to this weeks song went like this…

“Down the track the train came puffing, Beeston 3 points Canterbury nothing!”

Head coach, Stephen Wood, commented on the strange ritual, “OUR little song… {laughs}… Muss (assistant coach – Steve Musson) has sang this little beauty after a win for as long as I’ve been at the club!”
“It’s a daft bit of fun really – we haven’t got a song if we lose so it’s always good to have a sing-song after a game!”
The Bees went top of the Men’s Premier League last weekend after beating Canterbury 5-2 at Nottingham Hockey Centre.
Woody continued, “We played some really good attacking hockey against Canterbury. Preparation at training this week has been excellent and we’ve spent a lot of time looking at videos of East Grinstead. The squad is hungry for more and we’ll be travelling to Saint Hill looking to bring 3 points back to Beeston.”
The men’s 1st XI face East Grinstead on the 23rd October at 2pm at Saint Hill. The ladies 1st XI are playing at home on Saturday 22nd October against Ben Rhydding at 2pm.
