The Bees face Canterbury this Sunday at Nottingham Hockey Centre at 2pm in the England Hockey Men’s Hockey League Premier Division.
The Bees will be going in to the match hungry for 3 points as a win could see them take top spot in the league on Sunday afternoon.
Captain, Stephen Lawrence commented, “The lads have trained well this week and we’ve spent a lot of time on video analysis. After spending 3 of the first 4 games on the road, we are all looking forward to playing in front of a home crowd this Sunday.”
Elsewhere in the Men’s Premier League, after the drama of their Euro Hockey League exploits last weekend, there is no let-up for Holcombe as they face a tough clash with Premier Division leaders Hampstead and Westminster on Saturday.
Having signed a raft of new faces in the summer, Hampstead are one of three teams who are unbeaten in the league, and top on goal difference. But a Holcombe win could see any one of five teams go top as the early Premier Division table continues to take shape.
The team that beat Holcombe a fortnight ago, Wimbledon play host to Surbiton in Saturday evening’s other Premier Division match, with the division’s other games all on Sunday.
East Grinstead will be looking to climb from their current position of fifth when they play Loughborough Students at Saint Hill Road.
Finally Reading – who clinched their first win last weekend – go to Brooklands MU in search of a second victory.

We’ve been really pushing ourselves at training and we’re taking one game at a time. Durham will be a tough fixture this Saturday but we have prepared we’ll this week and we’re going there looking for 3 points.”
