Beeston Hockey Club are proud to announce a new scheme to celebrate the long service of its ladies playing members.
All members who have played for five full seasons since the club merged with Nottingham Highfields in 2008 will be awarded a ‘Ladies’ Club Cap’ to recognise their achievement and to say thank you.
Award winners will receive a cap memento and also have their number printed alongside the club logo on their shirt.
In a busy world, and with hectic family lifestyles, committing to play hockey season on season can be a real challenge, especially in the women’s game, and the club has decided to formally recognise those players who have given that service to the club since the merger.
In addition to the ‘Ladies Club Cap’, Beeston are also introducing a new scheme to celebrate 1st XI appearances. Those players who reach 50 appearances in the 1st XI, will get a small bee along with the number 50 printed on their shirt to celebrate this achievement. It will then be updated each time they reach the next landmark of 100, 150, 200 and so on.
The first ‘Ladies’ Club Cap’ awards will take place on the inaugural Beeston Ladies’ Day, taking place on Sunday 11thSeptember.
A Beeston XI will play against a Beeston President’s XI made up of long serving Club Cap winners, in what should be a fun and friendly atmosphere. Following this, a small presentation will take place to celebrate those who have reached the landmark, before the Ladies 1st XI face Buckingham in their final pre-season friendly ahead of the start of the Investec Women’s Hockey League on 17thSeptember.
We would love to see as many members as possible come along on Sunday to celebrate what promises to be an exciting day.
Beeston are proud to be introducing this scheme alongside our new mum’s membership, launched this year encouraging new parents back to play hockey. With the success of the women’s Olympic Team, there has never been a better time to get back into hockey with Beeston Hockey Club.
