New Tram links Highfields to City Centre.

Many visitors to Highfields will be aware of the Tramworks. Currently work is taking place outside the main entrance to the Club and although there will disruption and traffic problems while the work is completed Highfields Sports Club are excited about the opportunities the tram will bring to the Club.

Highfields Sports Club Chairman, David Griffiths commented, "We are working closely with the City Council and NET to ensure as little disruption to our members as possible. This new investment to the City ties in nicely with our exciting plans to develop Highfields with our 'Dream' project. We want to bring top class European and International hockey to Highfields and good transport is critical in doing so. I firmly believe if spectators find us easy to get to they will keep coming back. There will be a tram stop within walking distance of the club linking visitors to the City Centre and Junction 25 of the M1."

The Club are working with NET on the design of new terracing between the Waterbase pitch and the new tram line. The new stand will incorporate extra terracing for 160 spectators. More details about this development will follow shortly.
