Another successful weekend of friendly matches

BEESTON  11 – 0  KELBURNE

Beeston continued their amazing start to the new season when they demolished Scotland Champions, Kelburne, in the Repton School invitational Tournament.  Australian, Craig Boyne crashed home 4 goals and Simon Egerton, Martin Jones and Carl Smith both scored twice. Stuart Pilgrim completed the 11-0 rout.

BEESTON  7 – 0  SOUTHGATE

On Sunday The Bees continued their winning streak with a comprehensive win over Premiership side, Southgate. Dutchman, Maarten Wessels, made a solid debut.

Beeston continued their winning ways as they hit seven goals past their Premiership rivals Southgate.

Simon Egerton hit a superb hat trick and looks to be a potent forward addition. Martin Jones, Mark Wadsley, Carl Smith and David Ames all added to the score line.

The Bees have now scored 42 goals in 4 friendlies and conceded nothing during the weekend.

England international, Simon Egerton, who has scored 10 of Beeston’s pre-season goals, commented, “I am really enjoying my hockey at the moment. The team are creating so many chances it’s a forward’s dream to be in this squad.  There is a real sense of expectation at Beeston and all the players are working hard as we prepare for the opening Premiership game at Cannock in two weeks.”

This weekend, Beeston hit the road once again. On Saturday they play England Champions, Reading at 4.30pm at Sonning. On Sunday, the Bees travel to Manchester meet fellow Premiership side, Brooklands..
